What is Clawed Code?

Clawed Code is a free macOS desktop companion for Claude Code, Anthropic's command-line coding agent. It displays a small animated cat in an always-on-top window that reflects what Claude Code is doing in real time.

The problem

Claude Code runs in your terminal. While it's working on a task, you typically switch to your IDE, browser, or other tools. But then you have to keep switching back to the terminal to check: Is Claude Code still thinking? Does it need me to approve something? Is it done yet?

This constant window-switching breaks your flow and wastes time — especially if you're running multiple Claude Code sessions across different projects.

How Clawed Code solves it

Clawed Code sits in a small, always-visible window on your desktop. It connects to Claude Code through lightweight hooks (installed with one click) and shows one of four animated states:

• Idle — The cat is napping. Claude Code is waiting for your next prompt.
• Working — The cat is typing. Claude Code is generating code or reasoning through a task.
• Needs Input — The cat is waving at you. Claude Code needs your attention — it has a question or needs approval to proceed.
• Complete — The cat is celebrating. Claude Code finished the task successfully.
